Remarkable RE

Our class have been fascinated this week to learn about Sikhism.  We had lots of questions and were really interested to learn about other customs.

We have been talking about "belonging" and we were all very confident about what we belonged to.  All of our class felt a strong sense of belonging to their families, the school and the world around us. Some children also felt really strongly about belonging to clubs too.  Did you know we have members of Brownies, Rainbows, Cubs, Badgers, Football clubs, Rugby clubs, gym clubs and martial arts clubs in Year 3?

We particularly loved exploring the Sikh religion and beliefs through the eyes of other children. Check out these videos.

The beginnings of Sikhism

The story of the donkey and the tiger

We looked at how Sikhs show a stong commitment and sense of belonging to their religion by wearing the  Ks. Click on the link below to watch the video.

The Five Ks

We also enjoyed looking at the Sikh artefacts especially the Five Ks.  See if you can recognise them and their significance from watching the videos above.
